Biography

Max Balanowsky is an Argentine guitarist currently living in Germany.
He has been working intensively as a concertist for more than 15 years, having developed artistically in Europe and South America.

He studied as a concert guitarist at the Akademie für Tonkunst - Darmstadt with Tilman Hoppstock and then continued his career at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, where he obtained his Master of Arts degree. In addition, his main mentor was Paolo Pegoraro, who trained him at the Segovia Guitar Academy.

His wide knowledge and musical flexibility led him to participate as a guest in various record productions, from classical to popular and even dabbling with contemporary music. Based on these experiences he recorded in 2021 his first solo CD "Tres facetas del Siglo XX", a production made by the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg.

In 2013 he was distinguished and awarded a scholarship by the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and in 2020 he was awarded by the Bolsa de Comercio de Córdoba (Córdoba, Argentina) as one of the 10 outstanding young people of the year.

Max gives concerts regularly as a soloist, with different chamber ensembles (duo with bandoneon, duo with flute, duo with female voice, duo with male voice, string quartets), and with orchestras. Talented composers of his generation have written and dedicated works inspired by Max Balanowsky.

He currently teaches at the Musikschule Erfurt and Musikschule Sömmerda. Many of his students have won prizes in different musical competitions.

He plays with an Antonius Müller guitar (Germany) and with a Walter Verreydt guitar (Belgium). Besides, he uses Guitarlift.
